THE ALBANIAN JUDGE HAS BEEN ELECTED VICE PRESIDENT OF THE SECTION OF THE EUROPEAN COURT OF HUMAN RIGHTS

The Albanian judge at the European Court of Human rights, Mr. Ledi Bianku, on 5 January 2016, was elected as vice president of the First Section of the Court where he is also part of. Judge Bianku will serve in this position for one year, starting from the day when he was elected.

Mr.Bianku is also one of the founders of the European Centre since 1999, and one of her strongest supporters. He has been invited as a guest speaker in many conferences and trainings organized by the European Centre, as in the recent projects and workshops “ECtHR Standards on the Right to Asylum” as well as the national competition “ECtHR Moot Court- Albania II”, “Assistance on the better protection of the Information Right through the implementation of the ECHR standards in the Albanian courts” and “Conference- Presentation of the European Human Rights Database in the Languages of the Countries of the Region”, in addition to other activities during 2015.
