Moot Court 2014

The Centre organized the European Human Rights Moot Court 2014- Albania I. There were 9 private and public universities that participated, respectively:

–  Albanian University

–  The faculty of Law- University of Tirana

– “Hena e Plote Beder” University

– “Luarasi” University

– “Marin Barleti” University

– University of Vlora “Ismail Qemali”

– University of Shkodra “ Luigj Gurakuqi”

– European University of Tirana

– University “Pavarësia” Vlorë

The universities that had the chance to move on into the semi-final round were:

-The faculty of Law, University of Tirana

–  “Hena e Plote Beder” College University

–  European University of Tirana

– “Marlin Barleti” University

– “Luarasi” University

– University of Vlora “ Ismail Qemali”

 

During the semi- final round that was held at the Tirana’s Court of Appeal we were honored to have the following judicial body:

Ms. Elira Kokona- ex referent of the ECtHR Secretary

Mr. Denar Biba- deputy chief of the Central Election Commission

Ms. Elona Lipivani- consultant of the president of the Court of Appeal in Tirana

The final round was executed at the Supreme Court of Albania with the presence of the judicial body of:

Mr. Xhevair Zaganjori: President of the Supreme Court of Albania

Ms. Altina Xhoxhaj – Judge of the Constitutional Court of Albania;

Mr. Kristaq Traja – Ex-judge representing Albania in ECtHR;

Ms. Nuala Mole – Attorney at the ALTRE Centre in London;

Mr. Giusepe Cattaldi – Expert of the International Law;

Mr. Alaudin Malaj – President of the Court of Appeal in Tirana

Mr. Sokol Sadushi – Director of the Albanian School of Magistrates

 

The winner of the European Human Rights Moot Court was the Faculty of Law of the University of Tirana that represented Albania in the regional “Moot Court Competition” that was organized on the 24th -27th April 2015, in Herceg Novi Montenegro.
