The Centre organized the competition “Moot Court- Albania 2015” were there participated 10 private and public universities:
-“ Hena e Plote Beder” University
-“ Luarasi” University
-“ Marlin Barleti” University
-European University of Tirana
-University of Shkodra “ Luigj Gurakuqi”
-University “ Pavaresia” Vlore
-University of Durres “ Aleksander Moisiu”
-University of New York Tirana
-Mediterranean University of Albania
The six universities that moved on into the semi-final were:
-“ Hena e Plote Beder” University
-“ Marin Barleti” University
-European University of Tirana
-University of Shkoder “Luigj Guraqi”
-University New York of Tirana
-University of Vlora “Ismail Qemali”
The semi-final round was executed at the Court of Appeal of Tirana with a judicial body composed by:
Ms. Vjollca Meçaj – Ex-Judge of the Constitutional Court;
Mr. Armand Skapi – Director of the Department of the International Treaties and the International Law at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs;
Ms. Lorena Goxhobelli – Advisor of the deputy prime minister.
The final round was executed at the Constitutional Court of Albania on 19th of December. The judicial body consisted of:
Mr.Robert SPANO – Judge representing Iceland at ECtHR (Chair)
Mr.Ledi BIANKU – judge representing Albania at ECtHR (member)
Mr. Bashkim DEDJA – President of the Constitutional Court of Albania (member)
Mr.Xhezair ZAGANJORI – President of the Supreme Court of Albania (member)
Mrs. Vjollca MECAJ – ex judge of the Constitutional Court of Albania and expert of the constitutional law (member)
Mr. Armand SKAPI – Chair of the Department of the International Law and Treaties at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (member)
Mrs. Aurela Anastas – specialist and academic of the constitutional law (member).
The Court announced that the winning team of this 2015’s competition was University of New York Tirana. This team represented Albania at the regional competition that was organized by Civil rights Defenders on 6th till 9th May, in Zagreb Croatia.
